Refund Policy
When a Bidador subscription is refunded and when it is not — the free trial, cancelling, part-used periods, duplicate charges and billing errors, and how to ask.
What this policy covers
This Refund Policy explains when a Bidador subscription is refunded and when it is not. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and where the two touch the same subject, this policy is the more specific statement.
Bidador is sold as a subscription in two plans, priced on the pricing page: Solo at $39 a month or $390 a year, and Pro at $59 a month or $590 a year. Fees are charged in advance for the period you choose and renew automatically until cancelled.
The default position is that a paid subscription period is generally non-refundable once it has begun, subject to rights required by law and to the specific exceptions set out below.
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived by agreement. Where those rights give you more than this policy does, they apply — see your statutory rights.
Who takes the payment, and who pays a refund
Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for Bidador subscriptions. Paddle takes the payment, holds the payment details, issues the invoice or receipt, and handles applicable sales tax and VAT. Bidador never receives or stores your card number.
That has one practical consequence worth stating plainly: an approved refund is processed through Paddle, back to the original payment method, rather than paid out by Bidador directly. You do not need to contact Paddle yourself — ask us at support@bidador.com and we will arrange it.
Because it is a return to the original payment method, we cannot pay a refund to a different card, account or person, and we cannot pay it as cash or as credit with another business. Refunds are also subject to Paddle’s applicable refund rules.
The free trial
Every new account gets 14 days of the Pro plan free. It takes no credit card, it is provided by Bidador rather than by Paddle, and it begins when you connect a mailbox rather than when you sign up.
Nothing is charged during the trial and nothing is charged when it ends. If you decide not to subscribe, do nothing: the account becomes read-only, automated follow-ups stop, and your data stays where it is. There is no charge to refund, and no cancellation to make.
Because no money changes hands during a trial, the rest of this policy applies only once you have chosen a paid plan and been charged for it.
Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time from Settings, without asking us and without giving a reason. Cancelling is not the same as asking for a refund, and it is deliberately not destructive:
- Cancellation stops the next renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then — we do not cut a paid month short.
- After it takes effect the account becomes read-only and automated follow-ups stop. Nothing is deleted: every estimate, customer and message Bidador found is still there, and still readable.
- You are not charged again. Unused time in the period you are in is not automatically prorated or refunded — cancelling does not reverse a charge already made.
- Changing your mind before the period ends is a single button in Settings, and the subscription simply continues.
Cancelling is not a deletion request. To have your data removed, follow the deletion process in the Privacy Policy.
Periods you have already started
A paid period that has already begun is generally non-refundable, subject to rights required by law and to the exceptions below. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not prorate or automatically refund the time left in the period you are in. If you cancel in the third week of a month you have paid for, you keep the rest of that month rather than receiving three quarters of it back; if you cancel in the seventh month of a year, the remaining five months are not refunded as a matter of course.
This is the position for a subscription that worked as described and that you simply stopped wanting, and it is why cancelling early costs you nothing: access continues to the boundary you have paid to.
It is a starting point rather than a rule we hide behind. The situations in when we do refund are refunded regardless, and if your circumstances are not on that list but you think a refund is fair, write to us and say so. We would rather look at it than point at a sentence.
When we do refund
These are the situations the default position gives way to. The first three are put right as a matter of course; the remaining cases are assessed on their facts.
- A duplicate charge. If you were billed twice for the same period, the extra charge is refunded in full.
- A genuine billing error. If you were charged the wrong amount, charged for a plan you did not choose, or charged after a cancellation had already taken effect, we refund the difference or the whole charge as appropriate.
- A refund required by law. Where applicable law gives you a right to a refund, you get it, whatever the rest of this policy says — see your statutory rights.
- A material service failure. If a fault on our side meant the subscription you paid for was substantially unusable, and we could not put it right in reasonable time, we will consider a refund of the affected period.
- A renewal you did not intend. If you contact us promptly after an unintended renewal, we may approve a refund where the renewed period has been substantially unused. Refunds of this kind are considered case by case and are subject to Paddle’s applicable refund rules and any rights required by law. We will cancel the subscription at the same time so it does not happen again.
- A charge you do not recognise. If you believe a subscription was started on your payment method without your authority, tell us and we will investigate it with Paddle. If it is confirmed unauthorized, we will arrange the appropriate refund and cancel the subscription.
Refunds are for the subscription fee. Tax handled by Paddle is returned with it where the applicable rules allow.
When we usually do not
So the position is clear both ways, these are the cases a refund is not usually given for. None of them overrides your statutory rights, and none of them stops you asking.
- Deciding partway through a paid period that you no longer need Bidador — cancel, and keep the access you paid for until it ends.
- Not having used the service much during a period that was available to you and working.
- A result you hoped for that Bidador does not promise. Bidador finds and follows up estimates; it does not guarantee replies, won work, or revenue, and the Terms say so.
- An account suspended or closed for breach of the acceptable use rules.
- A problem caused by a third-party service outside our control — a mailbox provider changing or revoking access, for example.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy or in the Terms removes or limits rights you have under consumer protection or other law that cannot be waived by agreement. Where the law of your country gives you a right to cancel, to withdraw, or to a refund that is broader than this policy, that right applies and this policy does not cut it down.
Bidador is sold to businesses for business use, and some consumer rights do not apply to a business purchase. If you believe a statutory right applies to you, say so when you write to us and we will deal with it on that basis rather than on this policy’s.
Paddle, as Merchant of Record, is the seller on the transaction and has its own buyer terms, which apply alongside this policy.
How to ask for a refund
Email support@bidador.com. There is no form to fill in and no cancellation call to sit through.
It helps if you include:
- the email address your Bidador account uses;
- the date and amount of the charge, or the Paddle invoice or receipt number, which is on the email Paddle sent you;
- what went wrong, in as much or as little detail as you like.
We will review refund requests as promptly as reasonably possible. If we approve one, it is processed through Paddle back to the original payment method; how long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
If we decline, we will tell you why in plain terms rather than by quoting a clause number, and you are free to come back to us with more.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a charge is the one published when the charge was made, so a change never reaches backwards into a payment you have already made. The effective date at the top of this page is when the current wording took effect.
